Zipp Unveils All New Firecrest and NSW Disc-brake Wheel Lineups
30/08/2017

Zipp rolls out two of the most important wheel lineup-introductions in its three-decade history. For the first time, from our 202 to 808 rim depths, our NSW and Firecrest Disc brake wheels are purpose built for the new era of road riding of wider tires and multi-surfaces:

• Disc brake specific rims
• Dimples to edge of rim
• Wider rim, same weight
• Tubeless
• Includes new 303 650b Firecrest Disc brake

Zipp is proud to expand its NSW lineup to include disc brake wheels featuring a new rim shape and tubeless compatibility:

• 202 NSW Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake
• 303 NSW Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake
• 404 NSW Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake
• 808 NSW Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake

The evolution of disc brake-equipped road bikes is creating new pathways for innovation. The result of this evolution is the redesign of Zipp’s Disc-brake wheel lineup to be tubeless compatible with aero and ride benefits from an updated Firecrest rim shape. Zipp is proud to introduce:

• 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake
• 303 650b Firecrest Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake
• 404 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake
• 808 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc brake

The definition of what’s considered “road cycling” has evolved to include gravel and dirt roads in addition to pavement. At the same time, bikes are evolving to meet the fit requirements of smaller riders. Meeting these two distinct needs was the driving force behind the new Zipp 303 Firecrest 650b Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc-brake wheelset. This new wheelset shares the same proven innovations as the full line of Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc-brake wheels. The difference is size. A 650b wheel has a 584mm bead seat diameter rim vs. the 622mm diameter of a standard 700c road rim.
